Updated on 9 September 2024: We apologise for the delays in getting the reviewers’ comments to some authors – this is as a result of the review period falling over the summer. We are working as hard as we can to ensure all authors receive their reviews as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience.

Full Paper Submission

Authors of accepted abstracts have the option to submit a full paper. The deadline for full paper submission is 10 May 2024.

Paper Review & Publication

Submitted papers will undergo a further peer review process. Papers will be reviewed against the Paper Guidelines below. Note that submission of a full paper is not required for presentation at the conference, but papers submitted for publication will only enter peer review if presented at the conference. For posters, one of the authors must be at the poster to “present” it during the Poster Session.

Review comments on submitted papers will be sent to the authors by the week of 12 August 2024 If any revisions are required, revised papers will be due within three weeks of receipt of the review comments.

Accepted papers will be published in a dedicated volume of the Open Access journal Engineering Proceedings (ISSN 2673-4591) and in the Conference Proceedings e-Book (with ISBN), both published by MDPI. The Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 license will apply, meaning authors retain copyright and the content can be reused with attribution. All published papers will be assigned a digital object identifier (DOI) and citable.

ENC 2024 will also welcome papers of a commercial nature. These papers will be available in the conference proceedings online, but will not be published in the journal Engineering Proceedings due to MDPI’s regulations around commercial publications. If you submit a commercial paper you may choose whether to submit a PowerPoint presentation or Word file. Papers submitted that are of a commercial nature will also go through the review process.

Paper Guidelines

Papers should be written in clear English language (MDPI publishes in US English). Paper length must be between 4 and 9 pages. Note that this refers to the total page count (including abstract, references, appendices, etc.). The paper length requirement must be strictly complied with.

Papers should cover high-quality scientific work and create an advance towards the current knowledge that is of interest to the scientific community. Papers should not have not been previously published or submitted elsewhere. Papers must be original and include references where appropriate. Self-plagiarism may result in papers being rejected.

The ENC 2023 Proceedings may be viewed here (https://www.mdpi.com/2673-4591/54/1 ) and can be considered as a helpful guide for the ENC 2024 Proceedings.

Paper Templates

You can download the applicable MDPI template in Microsoft Word format here. Papers must strictly comply to these templates provided by MDPI – please note that all sections of the template (e.g. Institutional Review Board Statement) are absolutely required, even if followed by a “not applicable” statement.

Papers of a Commercial Nature

Papers should be written in clear English language. Paper length must be no more than 9 pages if submitted as a Word doc, or 40 slides if submitted as a PowerPoint. Note that this refers to the total page count (including abstract, references, appendices, etc.).

There is no strict format to follow if you submit a commercial paper, however, if you wish to follow the convention of Engineering Proceedings please use the following template here.

Papers should cover high-quality scientific work and create an advance towards the current knowledge that is of interest to the scientific community. Papers should not have not been previously published or submitted elsewhere. Papers must be original and include references where appropriate. Self-plagiarism may result in papers being rejected.

Paper Submisson

The MDPI Sciforum platform is used for paper submissions and reviews. The practical steps to submit a paper are detailed in the Paper Submission Procedure document. Please read the information in this document carefully.

Two steps are required. The first step can be done at any time before your paper is ready. It is recommended to complete the first step as early as possible. The second step is the actual submission of the paper.
